I been eating A LOT of strawberries lately and I found this recipe on how to make a STRAWBERRY cake. It is a chiffon cake with butter-cream frosting. The Great Gatsby.

"The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald."

Many of you my know that there is a re-make of the movie The Great Gatsby that is coming out this May, but while the 'older' vision of the movie was good and I am looking forward to seeing the 2013 vision of The Great Gatsby; I still believe that the book will be better than the movie. I read the book almost a year ago and some other great classic novels but "The Great Gatsby" was the most fun to read and one of the most challenging. I loved the way the book flowed and the way that Scoot Fitzgerald wrote it. If you have no read this book I strongly suggest that you do!  Some other great books are "Mice and Men." by John Steinbeck, "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Their Eyes Were Watching God" by Night" by A Separate Peace" by John Knowles and many others.

Cooking Jumbo Stuffed Shells
By: April Horne

Photo Essay on how to make stuffed shells.

Cook the pasta until soft. You don't want to eat hard pasta because that is just gross!

Place pasta shells into a glass pan that it's lightly drizzles in olive oil, so the pasta won't burn on to the pan.

Cop the fresh spinach & parsley.

Mix the ricotta cheese and fresh spinach & parsley.

Put salt, pepper, garlic into the mix until it taste perfect to you.

The cop the onion in very small pieces and mix everything together.

Stuffed each shells with the mix.

Then pour some marinara sauce on the shells.

Baked them in the oven for 10-15 mins on 350F.

Then take it out of the oven and enjoy your stuffed shells!

Ramen!

Ramen came Japan but it made with Chinese noodles and raman comes with a broth and have lots of topping on it. There is also instant ramen which you can buy from stores. Instant ramen is what most people eat because it is cheap and easy to make and it also taste good! There our some Japanese restaurant that make homemade ramen but sadly there is none around here because there is to low demand.

'Homemade' ramen looks like this:

Instant ramen looks like:

I love to make instant ramen because it is fast and easy! You could also add your own topping such as egg, vegetables, meat and much more.I wish I could make some real ramen but I would need a pasta maker!

What do you guys think about Ramen??

Last December

December 16, 2012

I don't know what to post today so I thought I talk about my first trip to the hospital in an ambulance because it is something interesting to read about. (I think!)  It all started at about 3:00 am because I woke put sweating and I just thought I had too much covers on me. Therefore I just went back to sleep and woke up at around 9:00 (I think.) I felt tired and I did not ate anything all day unless you count iced coffee. That day my mother, father, sister, and I went Christmas shopping. We went to target first and I felt fine because of the caffeine from the coffee I just drank but then we went to Book-a-Million to get some books that my Aunt wanted and I was looking at books this suddenly I felt weak and I just set down on the floor then my I walked over to wear my family were then sit down again because it was hard to breath and see. Then my mom and sister went to pay for the book and my dad tried to get me to walk to the car but that did not work because I just passed out and knocked over a book stand. (At least that what my dad told me!) I woke up outside of Books-a-Million and a cop was over me talking to my dad. Then the next thing I know there was like seven firemen around me. I was not sure that was going on but I was so cold that I was shaking and I was turning blue. By that time my mom and sister came out and saw what was going on. Then shortly after I was in the ambulance getting an IV in my hand. After I went to the hospital no one understood why I was so cold, turning blue, and was I passed out. Then later on they let me get up to go to the bathroom then I passed out again in the bathroom. I hit my head against the wall and a pole thing that was in the bathroom. (PAINFUL!) After that, my doctor came in and started taking test after test...after test and everything came back negative. Then they took a chest X-ray and saw that I had pneumonia! It was no fun because I could not walk because I was not getting enough oxygen to my brain while standing up. After 2 weeks I was 100% better. This is my random post for today.

Vegan?!

Could You Be Vegan?!

A vegan is person who does not eat or use animal products. You could not eat no junk food or meats or processed foods! You would have to mostly make everything you eat at home an not buy from a store unless it is organic! Many vegans go to farmers markets to get fresh food and organic products.  There are many websites that give great recipes for vegan food, Maybe you could try some vegan meals or cut out a lot of pointless junk food. I am not a vegan but I try not to eat junk food or anything harmful to me but I do have days where I eat a sweet like a piece of cake from a bakery & etc.

My daily meal plans:

Breakfast: two pieces of toasts with a fruit.
Lunch: Granola bar or protein bar with a fruit or sometimes a sandwich with baked go-fish or rice chips.
Snack: Fruits or proteins bars or popcorn with no butter.
Dinner: Anything that is healthy. (varies!)
I also drink lots of water and one can of diet soda a day.
(Trying to stop drinking soda all together!)

What is your daily food plan?
Could you be Vegan?
Are your food choices Healthy or Unhealthy?

Strawberries!

Amazing Strawberries!

This post is going to be about my favorite fruit because it is a nice summer snack and it can be used in so many ways. Strawberries are mainly red, they are also sweet and juicy. You can eat them by themselves or with ice cream or with many other kinds of food. They can make great breads, muffins, or ice cream. But did you know you can use strawberries to make your very on homemade (diy) face mask? It is a great way to use strawberries and it is all natural and good for your skin. There are many ways to make a strawberry mask but my favorite is the strawberry yogurt mask  by a YouTube beauty gurus, Bubzbeauty, and it is a great mask that works great!

You'll need:
1.) Quaker Oats rolled oats
2.) Honey
3.) Plain yogurt
4.) Strawberries

How to make the mask:
1.) First you mush 4-5 strawberries on a plate.
2.) Add about 2 to 4 teaspoons on oats and mix them well.
3.) Add two big spoonful of the yogurt and mix everything very well.
4.) Lastly add 1 to 2 teaspoons of honey and mix.

You should use this mask about two times a week to get the most out of the mask. The mask will conditions skin, help heal acne,  its also a natural exfoliator, and it is packed full of Vitamins.

Let me know if you like posts like this & what is your favorite fruit!

My thoughts.

Tired of High School!
By: April Horne.

I am sick of high school and all of the groups such as the IB kids, the AP group, the jocks and even the "weird" kids have a group they fit into. I don't fit in any of these group!! Therefore, my high school experience was sucky because it was hard to make friends because everyone already had their groups of friends and it was even harder to get a group to accept you. I had people say "hi , how are you?" to me or let me sit with them at the lunch table but it was just because we known each other for years and not because we were friends. I did had some great classmates and that made high school life better! (: On Saturday I went on a tour of the college I am going to this fall and it was GREAT!!! No one care about how you look or who you are in college they just accepted you as you! It was like a breath of fresh air to have people from all of the world going to school together and trying to understand one another without the fighting and isolated groups. I am not saying college is going to be easy but if I can make it though all the drama and pithiness of high school I think I can almost handle anything.
